Συνέδριο ΕΚΕΜ/ΕuroMedO

Ακολουθούν οι παρεμβάσεις των ομιλητών στο συνέδριο του Ευρωμεσογειακού Παρατηρητηρίου του ΕΚΕΜ (EuroMedO), το οποίο πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 15 Νοεμβρίου 2010 στην αίθουσα «Ι.Κρανιδιώτης» του Υπουργείου Εξωτερικών.

The Euro-Mediterranean Observatory (EuroMedO) of the Hellenic Centre for European Studies (EKEM) has organized, on the 15^th of November at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a successful one-day event entitled: “The Euro-Mediterranean developments and the role of Greece”. The event, in which were present representatives from the academic world, politicians, diplomats, researchers and students, examined the challenges and the possibilities for a genuine Euro-Mediterranean cooperation as well as the evolution of the Union for the Mediterranean initiative.

The Alternate Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Mariliza Xenogiannakopoulou, opened the event, congratulating EKEM for taking the initiative of organizing the conference and underlining Greece’s leading role in the development of Euro-Mediterranean relations. The Alternate Minister for Foreign Affairs declared her disappointment regarding the cancellation of the UfM Summit, programmed to be held on the 21^st of November in Barcelona. She highlighted the fact that the conflict in the Middle East constitutes the major impediment to the sound evolution of Euro-Mediterranean relations, noting that EU involvement in the region is highly necessary. At the same time, she declared that “the Greek government places the development of a Euro-Mediterranean dimension on the top of the agenda”. She, furthermore, reminded the Prime Minister’s initiative concerning “Climate change in the Mediterranean”, organized last October in Vouliagmeni. 

Στη Μάλαγα της Ισπανίας θα πραγματοποιηθεί το στις 23 και 24 Σεπτεμβρίου το τέταρτο συνέδριο για τον Τουρισμό της Μεσογείου «Meditour». Το τοπικό  Εμπορικό Επιμελητήριο με τη συνεργασία του Συνδέσμου των Μεσογειακών  Εμπορικών και Βιομηχανικών Επιμελητηρίων διοργανώνει τη συνάντηση που θα έχει ως σύνθημα «1 Θάλασσα 1001 προορισμοί».

The Chios Institute for Mediterranean Affairs (CIMA) will organize the 1st summer school on sustainable tourism in Chios Island. The school will be divided in five thematic days based on green tourism, on methods of monitoring sustainability in tourism, on local heritage and rural landscapes as an element of sustainable tourism, on destination branding and sustainability, on e-tourism and m-tourism as well as on a case study day.

The summer school is designed for advances bachelor and master students, but is nevertheless open to all interested people.

• Το Ευρω-Μεσογειακό Πανεπιστήμιο (EMUNI) διοργανώνει διάλεξη στο πλαίσιο της σειράς εκδηλώσεων «EMUNI Talks» στις 15 Απριλίου 2010 στη Σλοβενία με κεντρικό ομιλητή τον Γενικό Γραμματέα του Αραβικού Συνδέσμου, κ. Amre Moussa, και θέμα τις «Σύγχρονες Προκλήσεις στη Μέση Ανατολή».
• Το 2ο συνέδριο «Research Souk 2010» διοργανώνει το Ευρω-Μεσογειακό Πανεπιστήμιο (EMUNI) στην Αλεξάνδρεια στις 14 Ιουνίου 2010. Το θέμα του φετινού συνεδρίου είναι η συμβίωση σε πολύ-πολιτισμικές κοινωνίες.
